RIBA Design Competition At Voting Stage

Most people think that architecture is limited to buildings, but architectural design can extend to much more than simple structures. Back in May 2011 , in conjunction with the Department of Energy and Climate Change, launched a to find a brand new design for the humble electricity pylon. Focusing on both energy needs and visual impact, six finalists have been chosen – and now are allowing the public to vote for their favourite design. The designs range from the futuristic, with the needled ‘Silhouette’ design, to the almost organic and flower-like, as with ‘Flower Tower’.
