Our Listed barn conversion project in Tealby is finally underway. We went to visit site yesterday and have taken a few photos to share. So far construction work has been for the strip out of the existing building saving the salvageable features. Unfortunately the building was in such poor condition the roof and floors had to be condemned as they were totally unusable. As a result the building has been stripped back to a mere five walls, one of which is to be reconstructed to avoid the underpinning of the whole wall. The conservation project is for the conversion of the barn to form a new habitable space and is expected to be completed later this year. We look forward to bringing you further updates about this architectural conservation project.

Origin Design Studio was employed by Tim and Shirley Morrell to undertake a flood risk assessment and to obtain planning permission and Building Regulations approval for a new business venture at Bank Farm in Tattershall in 2008. The project gained planning approval from East Lindsey District Council in November 2008, and full plans approval for Building Regulations in August 2009. Constructed by M Gosling & Son Ltd, local building contractors based in Woodhall Spa, the farm park opened for business in the autumn of 2009. A year and a half on, the farm park has built a loyal customer base and has received many plaudits from the local community. It is a popular place for children’s’ birthday parties, hosts events at Easter and Halloween, and the 2010 Open Day saw visitors soar to nearly 1,000 a day. A reptile room has recently been added within the shop building, letting children (and adults!) interact with snakes, geckos and iguanas.
